Ford ups their recall game
MOTORING NEWS, (TVMO) - On average, car manufactures mail over 10 million safety recall notices per year to U.S. vehicle owners, yet less than 10% of the mailers get a response. This has prompted Ford Motor company to up their recall game.
Due to the vast number of junk mail received from extended warranty companies, a large amount of vehicle recall notices sent through the mail get tossed in the trash, which results in thousands of vehicles on U.S. road with recall notices.
Now, though, to ensure that Ford owners respond to a serious safety warning about the Takata Airbag recall, they have taken a different approach. Instead of sending a letter to the last registered owner of a Ford vehicle impacted by the issue, they have commissioned a PR company that came up with a greeting card, programed with the safety message.
If that does not grab your attention, not much else will.
